The table turns that estimate into training loads: 90% is 236.3 lb, about 3 reps; 80% is 210 lb for roughly 8; 70% is 183.8 lb, a volume weight. Sets of 3–6 reps give the most reliable estimates.

How do I use my 1RM in a program?
Lift percentages of it: 210 lb (80%) for 5–8 reps, 236.3 lb (90%) for doubles and triples.
Is it safe to test a true one rep max?
Estimating from a 3–5 rep set gives a number within a few percent without a maximal attempt.
